The opponent’s last move is already on the board. It’s your turn to find the idea.

  1. Set up your training. Choose a difficulty and theme in the panel over the board, then start training. Use Training settings below the board whenever you want to change your options.
  2. Choose your move. Click or tap a piece and its destination, drag it, or enter a coordinate move such as e2e4. Keyboard users can reach the board with Tab, move between squares with arrow keys, and select with Enter or Space.
  3. Follow the line. Correct moves bring an automatic reply. Keep going until the puzzle is solved. A legal wrong move is a mistake; an illegal move is simply returned.
  4. Learn from the position. A hint identifies the piece, then its destination. Show solution opens the complete line for review. Hints and mistakes make a solve assisted.

Guests get 15 puzzles. After that, sign in for unlimited free practice. Each person has their own progress; check who is playing before you begin. Your progress and recent practice are on your player profile.
