Hi! I’m Joshua Jairus Porras, former chess representative of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada in regional division (2016-2019). When pandemic hit (2020 onwards) I decided to pursue coaching career instead and focus on teaching the next generation through sharing them what I’ve learned in the past decade. The last student that I’ve worked with, won one of the regional qualifiers and was qualified to join tournaments around the nation within less than a year of studying together. My current goal is to expand that achievement and share the experience with more students that are willing to learn and to grow in chess while having fun studying the depth of the game!
